Out and about in New York

Things to do this week

Free and low-cost events around the city, picked for older New Yorkers and updated every week. Each one is easier, and more fun, with someone by your side. Book a scholar and go together.

Find events near you

Type the ZIP code where you live to see the closest events first, or pick a borough. Every event is run by another organization, so check their page before you go.

Your ZIP code stays on this page. We don't send it anywhere or keep it.

Borough

Going with a scholar

A scholar is a vetted university student who keeps you company: on the way there, at the event, and on the way home.

Tickets

You pay the venue directly, for both of you. Scholars never handle your money. Many events here are free.

Getting there

On foot, by bus or subway, or in a taxi you book and pay for. Scholars never drive.

Ask early

The sooner you tell us, the easier it is to find a scholar who is free that day.

Check first

We don't run these events. Times and prices can change, so look at the organizer's page before you go.
